Fyrtøjet (The Tinderbox) was created for the Funen music festival Tinderbox in 2017. Tinderbox needed a trademark of scale that could create an atmosphere at the big site and that was not easily forgotten. The project was the germ for artist Magnus Fuhr to create Chaos Engine. The idea for the sculpture originates from a 100-year-old lighter also known as a tinderbox. But the tinderbox itself also have a special place for Funen and the city Odense specially, drawing threads back to H.C. Andersens fairytale of the same name.
